Using rare, organic, cold pressed botanicals and steam distilled organic essential oils with scientifically proven healing and anti-ageing properties, Dr Mah Hussain-Gambles founded Saaf Skincare, the world’s first Halal and Organic certified skincare range in 2004. Since its international launch in February 2008, Saaf Pure Skincare has rapidly expanded beyond its UK beginnings and is now available in over 14 countries as well as negotiating ventures with overseas partners.
Demand for halal-certified beauty products worldwide is on the rise and Saaf Pure Skincare is well placed within this market with its policy of containing no irradiated ingredients, cruelty free, vegetarian, vegan, and no alcohol or genetically modified organisms.
SAAF PURE SKINCARE – THE BEGINNING
Disillusioned by beauty marketing claims, Saaf Pure Skincare was born from Dr MahHussain-Gambles’ desire to create a range that her family and friends could safely use. Luxury skin care treats that were every bit as indulgent as they were nurturing and environmentally friendly. Naturally, they had to be completely organic and deliver beautiful, visible results. And as it turned out Halal-certified too.
Mah calls her skincare range a “marriage between safe science and nature” – each Saaf (Persian for Pure) product contains only the best of nature’s ingredients, scientifically researched – which just happens to sum up her own educational path. As both a qualified homeopath, a pharmacologist and a specialist in clinical trials, this ultimate combination of expertise has allowed her to formulate ethical but luxurious beauty products that are safe, gentle and results-based.
